Wired Surf: Letter to our members

Wired Surf: Letter to our membersDear Members,

It’s been a difficult month. We’ve encountered various problems, not least of which: a severe DDOS attack that essentially destroyed our ability to function for weeks, a flood of tickets and emails that pushed us further behind, outstanding payments that could not be paid due to inaccessibility, and of course the repeated attempt to recover from the chaos, to no avail.

This has left Wired Surf in the uncomfortable situation where things are just not moving forward like they should. After long discussions, we have decided to close our program for the time being until we are able to resolve all of the issues that have plagued our community for weeks. Our initial plan was to reactivate Insta Pay, offer compounding to those who requested it and pay out all existing payments by the deadline originally set by our company. After weeks of working 12+ hours a day, with a very limited team, we are forced to be realistic and push aside our desire to save the program by realizing that it has become absolutely impossible to move ahead as quickly as we had hoped.

Please understand that we had not given up on our program even when it was evident that things would probably not work out the way we had planned. Despite the negative posts, the frustration from our community and intensive amount of work that was required by all of our staff, we had high hopes that our program would be able to repair itself and move ahead. However, that is not the case, and it is time that we confronted the fact that no matter what we do to try to give new life to Wired Surf, all of the previous obstacles that we were faced with, have made it literally impossible to move past.

However, Wired Surf has no intention of abandoning our community unfairly. We had the option to take our site down when our DDOS attack occurred, yet we still ploughed ahead paying members the moment we were able to access our administrative panels. And we will continue to respond to members with honesty and fairness, as we always have.

As many of you know when EMO went down, we continued to pay our members utilizing over $85,000.00 of our reserve pool. Then, when our site experienced weeks of downtime, we utilized hundreds of thousands more that were generated over the previous months from our outside investments. While fighting off the attack, purchasing expensive software to protect ourselves from further attack, and paying out daily for weeks with limited activity coming in, we have not been able to replenish our reserve fund as quickly as is needed in order to be able to stay on top of payments, and rebuild our program. In addition, despite our attempts to recover the program, activity has ceased, and it has had a tremendous impact on our ability to continue.

In addition to all of the obstacles we attempted to overcome, and the continuous "dipping" into our reserve funds to encourage recovery, Wired Surf has also experienced several significant investment losses this month and last.

What we are left with is the option to either continue to fall behind with current and outstanding payments, struggling to create enough revenue to replenish our exhausted reserve fund, and possibly losing your trust by not being able to meet deadlines and promises, in order to stay productive. We all know this is not the way our network would ever want to operate, and so we feel it is best to temporarily close our doors until we can:

1) Refund members who have pending or outstanding payments that were not in profit with Wired Surf..

2) Re-organize our business plan and restructure it accordingly in order to meet our obligations and to move ahead.

3) Replenish our reserve fund/pool before we re launch our program.

4) Ensure that our site is absolutely protected and possibly moved to a hosting company that better caters to our requirements.

5) Add alternative options for payments and ad purchases, as e-gold is becoming increasingly unreliable, and more people are losing money through unauthorized access/hacked accounts each day.

By temporarily closing our site, it gives us time to repair the damage that occurred, and to take care of existing accounts instead of adding additional work from new accounts and upgrades. It will also give us the opportunity to replenish our reserve fund which is essential to a programs success.

There are also other factors that hindered our ability to restore our program that many of you were not aware of.

1) Our e-gold account was accessed by unauthorized parties and depleted shortly after our DDOS attack, resulting in the restriction of our e-gold account and no assistance from E-gold itself. This happened before our attack and once after. We didn't let this stop us from continuing to pay out nor did we notify our community because we have seen this scenario used as an excuse far too many times by other surf programs. It did of course, harm us and in the end contributed to our current situation.

2) Our website/scripts and databases were accessed by non-authorized parties immediately before the DDOS attack occurred. When our site was back online, we discovered that our script had been downloaded, leaving us open to the possibility of further hacking. Part of our script was destroyed leaving large parts barely functioning (as many of you were aware of), and other internal problems. We worked hard to resolve the issues and were still working on them today.

There are many factors that have led up until this point, all of them out of our control.

As for refunds, we will be following this format:

Our initial round will begin with us refunding 50% of your principal, meaning that if you upgraded $100.00, you will be refunded $50.00. Remember, this is a percentage of your original upgrade amount, and not what you would have earned surfing.

We will ONLY refund those who are NOT in profit with our program, meaning that those who are at a loss will receive this partial refund in our initial round of payments while those in profit may be contacted at a later date, pending there are funds available in our reserve pool.

In our secondary round, we will analyze the remaining funds, if any, and disburse them to the members who had initially received 50% of their ad purchase amounts, once again, focusing only on those who are not in profit.

At the conclusion of our secondary round, any remaining funds in our reserve pool will be paid out to members with pending payments who are in profit with Wired Surf, regardless of their payout history.

We will keep our message boards online even with our website closed and unavailable for new account signups, however access to current and existing member accounts will no longer be available after June 16th, due to the new system being created and tested during our process of recovery and refunding.

When we re launch, all members will be asked to create new accounts as not only will our program be entirely different, our script, our access center and our payment system will be optimized for better performance in the future. We do however, have a copy of the database which we will use to properly refund our members.

It has been a great experience for all of us, but we hope you understand that continuing Wired Surf at this point would lead to much greater complications. We have done everything humanly possible to keep the program alive, and we don't believe that anyone would disagree, regardless of the frustration or disappointment in our temporary closure.

Sincerely,

Wired Network
