GottaLotta Hits is now a traffic exchange

GottaLotta Hits is now a traffic exchange, which means we are no longer a paid-to-surf site. We have already started issuing refunds.

A word of explanation: GLH officially started October 1st, 2005. Yesterday was our official 5 month birthday. We have always tried to be respectful and courteous to all of our members, regardless of their upgrade status. Additionally, we have also always paid on time.

In early February we hired a law firm to investigate our business model. With this being a fairly new industry we wanted to find out 'where the boundaries' were. We also explained the StormPay situation and they told us that we cannot continue in our current state. Because of our loss with StormPay it will take roughly 6 months to recuperate (without relying at least in part on new member upgrades). Therefore, yesterday we were advised to cease our operations as a paid-to-surf site.

Secondly, we have been able to pay our members because of our other 'investments'. Our attorneys also advised us that we cannot pay our members on the earnings of our investments without being classed as an investment ourselves.

With this being the case, we are going to continue in business, but now as a traffic exchange (ex. if I look at 10 sites, mine will be seen 10 times). Existing credits in each of our member's accounts will remain in their accounts. However, upgraded funds are now being refunded.

Members who upgraded during the last three weeks (February 10-March 1) will be refunded 100%. Members who upgraded between October 1 - February 9 will be refunded 50%. IF, there is additional money after these refunds are made we will issue an additional refund. We will try to have all refunds completed by March 5th. We have already begun giving refunds before issuing this news to show you that we are indeed issuing refunds (which the forums have already picked up).

We do ask that you try to understand that this change is out of our control. We have also begun working on a new site that we will announce shortly, and will stay committed to helping you earn additional money in the future. We will also keep the rest of our site completely functional, including our forum (although some minor changes will be coming).

Lastly, we do still have several 'big' plans for our site. Our next big change is the regionalizing and categorizing of all of our sites in rotation. Therefore, members will be able to choose which region/category they want to advertise in. Additionally, members will be able to choose which categories they would like to view. We believe that these changes will give you better results in advertising.
